Saw-Toothed Grain Beetle. Oryzaephilus surinamensis (L).

Adult. Can be identified by the tooth-like projections on its thorax.

Both larvae and adults attack stored animal and vegetable products and especially prefer cereals, meals, flour, and feeds.

Larvae do not develop inside grain kernels but feed at random in the food material. In warm weather a generation may be completed in 3-4 weeks.
