Brown-banded Roach. Supella supellectilium (Serville).

The lack of the two dark lateral stripes on the brown-banded is one outstanding difference between the German roach and this species. The female brown-banded is larger and more colorful than the male shown in the photo.

The brown-banded is often found in furniture, shelves, and upstairs in houses.

The egg capsules contain an average of 18 eggs, which require about 70 days incubation. The brown-banded roach requires about 5 months to develop to maturity. Temperatures below 75 degrees F. seem to retard the development of this roach.
